Congratulations on reaching Cape Town – truly one of the most beautiful cities, especially at sunset. It made me go to the albums and look back at the wonderful pictures we have of our time in South Africa. I hear you are going to do a silent retreat — fantastic!! I hope you love it. Would love to hear more about it – when, where, who is sponsoring, etc. Having done silence retreats many times, I think you will find it so freeing and restful – and the re-entry to sound a little challenging. But who knows – maybe you will have a different experience. We miss you guys, wishing you were able to join us for some of the upcoming holidays. But you look happy and content and enjoying your adventure, so that will have to satisfy us. ENJOY!
    Love, Liz

Thanks Liz! It is indeed a beautiful city, one of the most beautiful we’ve ever visited (still can’t compete with Istanbul), and we actually loved it so much we started cooking up plans to emigrate (don’t tell the parents!). The silent meditation retreat will be a Burmese type of Vipassana meditation – http://www.dhamma.org/ – I’m glad to know you’ve enjoyed similar things, as for us, we’re a little nervous for the moment… We’ll let you know how it goes!
